How we choose the twelve featured tours

The twelve tours featured on this site were selected from GetYourGuide's full Rome catalogue of 152 offers using three filters, in this order:

  1. Rating threshold. Minimum 4.1 stars across the operator's verified review history.
  2. Review volume. Higher review counts (within each price tier) win when ratings are tied — proxy for consistent delivery.
  3. Editorial fit. The picks span the four tour shapes a one-day Rome visit can take (Ancient Rome, Vatican, City Walks, Combo). Within each category we pick a "best overall", "best value", and a "premium / most unique" pick to cover the price ladder.

We do not favor tours with higher commissions. We do not accept payment from operators to be featured. We did not contact any operator in selecting these tours — the selection is based entirely on GetYourGuide's public listing data as of May 2026.

How commissions are calculated

GetYourGuide pays affiliate partners a percentage of the tour price after the visitor completes the booking and the tour runs. If you cancel within the free-cancellation window, no commission is earned. If you don't show up, no commission is earned. We have no incentive to push you to book a tour you'll regret.
